Yes? If a Full Yes is Not Available,
Let’s Go for Yes Enough
Words?
Words to build
A blog?
They slither
Away
Today.
Ideas?
To weave together
Into
A blog?
They, too,
Are
Illusive
Little
Buggers.
My media-reduced
Campaign?
I would give myself
C-.
My self-care
Never-ending
Campaign?
I’m choosing
A pass/fail option.
Pass.
Sure—
Let’s elect
A
Mentally impaired
Fascist
As president,
Great idea,
America.
SORRY.
STOP THAT
RIGHT
NOW,
ARUNI.
Okay.
Four things
That
I know
To
Be
True.
#1. That:
It’s not
The moment
That hurts me.
It’s my
Attempt
To
Control it
That
Sucks
My
Energy
And
Life force.
~~~
#2. That:
Kindness
To myself
Within the range
Of my
Human
Particularities
(So exaggerated
As we careen
Toward November 5th)
Brings
Relief,
Dare I say,
Freedom.
Kindness
To self
=
Freedom.
~~~
#3. That:
Expecting myself
With rigidity
And effort
To
Be
Different
Inevitably
=
Misery.
~~~
#4, That:
Letting you be
Exactly
As you are
Is
Fully
And
Ultimately
And
Successfully
Liberating
For me.
Letting you be
=
My liberation.
~~~
Okay,
That’s pretty good.
Good enough
For today.
Phew.
~~~
Here are a few randomly and disjointed offerings, hopefully, that might offer some comfort for you:
First, I’m excited, so excited by Rami Shapiro’s book, Recovery—the Sacred Art, apropos for all of us. Rami says the ultimate addiction we all share is the illusion that we can control our lives! Trust me, this book is for every being.
Here’s Rabbi Rami:
from the delusion that your life can be controlled
and the illusion that you are controlling it.
Phew! Good one.
How to create that right-sized relationship with reality?
Taking action,
Letting go of its outcome?
Comes in handy, no?
~~~
A second and totally random offering today is Cass.
Oh, dear Cass Eliot. That voice. That energy. Fat-shamed her entire life, she brought such heart to the music she offered us. No, she did not die from choking on a ham sandwich. Her publicity people chose that as a less negative marketing of her death. She did or did not die of a heart attack. The continuation of her fat-shaming has lived on through these years, long past her death. Listening to this song feels like some form of redemption.
It’s a dear song, an invitation to us, all!

And finally, the last offering.
Silliness.
Does laughter seem difficult these days?
For no reason, here is an old Saturday Night Live clip, a spoof on West Side Story. Oh! With Will Farrell in the middle of it. Being a massive fan of the original movie, it cracked me up. Give it a try:
~~~
Friends,
How will you take care of yourself this week?
Ways to relax?
To soften?
To maybe even laugh?
To be in right-sized relationship
With outcomes?
My plan?
Kindness to Myself.
Snuggles with doggie.
Minimum media.
Prayer
And
More
Prayer.
Prayer doesn’t change reality.
But it absolutely does soften my grip on it.
~~~
Dear Friends,
Let’s pray
For patience,
For willingness,
For strength.
That we might sit
In the silence
Of our hearts,
And when it is time
(And we will know when)
That we might
Take right action,
Releasing its outcome.
May all beings benefit
From our shared words.
Peace,
Aruni
