Pink Snow at Sunset
Around sunset yesterday, the all-day snow began slowing herself down. Hallelujah. The light in the day began to dramatically and quickly change. I stepped outside and was instantly enveloped in awe. Pink snow! The entire landscape was pink.
Pink snow. Remarkable.
This picture is not filtered. This shows us the brilliance and the magic of our glorious planet.

I have been practicing, oh, so unbelievably imperfectly
Being right here
In this moment.
I have been practicing not making this moment wrong.
I have been practicing not making the people and the things in this moment wrong.
I have been practicing coming forth in the moment with kindness,
No matter what is happening.
Being human!

What a schlep.
You know the word schlep?
Yiddish = to walk a tedious or difficult journey.
In 12 Steps there is a fantastic line about:
“….trudging the Road of Happy Destiny”.
That so resonates with me today.
I am trudging.
The full quote is:
“We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.”*
Sometimes, it is just an f___ing trudge, right?
Sometimes, it’s snowy and icy and slippery and cold.
Sometimes, right?
And sometimes,
It is not.
This week seemed extreme.
It landed for me as—too-too-hard.
It wasn’t.
It just felt that way.
So, I trudged
And I did my best
And I had to offer amends to a few people
And I did.
And I continue to practice.
Just practice.
Living right here.
Permission to be human—
Is fully granted.
Then I washed in pink snow.
Happy destiny reemerged.

She absolutely makes everything groovy for me.

Looking inside a drawer, I just—this moment— found a pack of Post-It’s—
A sickly pea-green in color—
Untouched but for the top sticky note—

This, along with all the pieces of this disjointed week and this disjointed blog,
Is true.
