A Not-Quite-the-New-Year Proclamation
Dear Friends,
With you as my witnesses,
I choose:
To live these next four years of my life
These later years,
In kindness,
Whenever possible.
To live them
In mindful presence
Whenever possible.
To live them
In right service,
As it is possible.
And most importantly,
To live
In alignment
With
That
Which is
Greater
Than
Myself.
I choose to lean away from
Contempt prior to investigation,
To lean away from
Anxiety prior to experience.
I choose to lean into
The solution,
Rather than the problem,
(Which, by the way,
I can so quickly become when
My anticipatory-anxiety takes over).
I choose to be
Part of the solution,
That I might
Bring kindness
And
Light
And
Love
To the moment,
As best I can.
And when I cannot,
Then,
To keep practicing.
To keep practicing
Coming
Back
Home
To
Myself,
No matter how
I am
Showing up,
No matter what
Life
Is
Presenting
To me.
~~~
Friends,
Come as you are, to the moment.
In the moment, more will be revealed, right?
Here is a five-and-a-half-minute meditation,
From my heart to yours:
Wear Your Love Like Heaven
Lord, kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah, kiss me once more
That I may
That I may
Wear Your love like heaven.
Donavan. 1967.
I have played this song repetitively throughout this week.
I do have weird music habits, it is true.
When a song touches me, I draw on it deeply for a bit.
Repetition truly softens my anxiety.
Think about these above lines!
Lord—Universe—Life—Reality,
That I may celebrate what you give me,
No matter what it is.
Life—Universe—Reality
That I might offer light to the world.
~~~
Dear Friends,
With gratitude,
With possibility,
With wise hope,
May we continue
To practice
Becoming
Who
We
Really
Are.
May all beings benefit
From our shared words.
Peace & blessings,
Aruni
