All That We Share
It’s easy for me to feel alone. I know there is much love and support around me. At times, when things get stressful and I get scared, my knowing dims.
My access thins.
That’s where I sit tonight.
Knowing It’s there.
Remembering it’s there.
Even
Trusting it’s there.
But
Not feeling.
Not feeling it’s there.
Here’s the quote that grabbed my heart this week, that I keep going back to, pondering and savoring. It is our dear Pema Chodron who says:
When we feel ready to give up,
This is the time when healing can be found
in the tenderness of pain itself.
Pema! You rock.
Healing can be found in the tenderness of pain itself.
I run away and hide from others,
Especially when I get scared.
Less now, much less now.
But/and, we learn to run.
I learned to run.
We learn,
I learned
To anesthetize myself,
To anesthetize ourselves,
To jump off the wave of feelings.
Yet, such depth, such deliciousness lives deep within.
In the not-running,
In the standing still,
In the being with myself and others,
With the reality of our pain,
With the reality of our humanness.
Then so much becomes possible.
Pema goes on to say:
Through the kinship with the suffering
Of others.
Tenderness for life awakens…
Through the kinship with the suffering of others.
I’m a total fan of Kripalu programs.
That is where I practice
Allowing my pain,
Our pain
To be.
That is where I practice
Seeing the depth of connection
We are able
To offer
Each other.
As we practice,
As we connect
In the witnessing,
Everybody is healed.
Community of healing.
Sangha of healing.
Community of heart.
It is real.

What happens to you when you get scared?
What happens when you feel stressed?
When uncertainty turns up her inevitable volume?
How do you share, can you share, do you share
With others?

I love this video! This, of all things, is a Danish television ad! That is ridiculous. You must watch this. Barbara, thanks for sending it!

Dear Friends,
One day at a time,
One step at a time,
One breath at a time,
May we practice
Being with ourselves,
And
Being with each other.
Permission to be human is fully and forever granted.
May all beings benefit from our time together.
In gratitude,
In possibility,
In wise hope,
Aruni
