In You Live the Missing Pieces of Me…
People.
Other people.
Those pesky and
Marvelous mirrors
To see ourselves.
People!
Oh.
People.
How to
Simply
Love
Others?
How to
Simply
Not
Get
Sucked
Into people-pleasing?
That internal voice, for me, sounds like,
Let me do more, I’ll get you to like me.
Or something like that.
Even when silent, that energy lives.
How to
Simply
Not
Get seduced
By
Lone-wolf-izing?
As a lone wolf, I just made up that term.
In me, it sounds like—
Thanks, but I got this.
Or something like that.
Even when silent,
That energy rattles
Around
Inside
Somewhere.
People-pleasing
Or over-boundaried,
Where do you fall
On that spectrum
Of relationship?
~~~
The places in you
That trigger me
Are only,
ONLY
My own
Un-integrated pieces
Coming home to me
For my wholeness.
The parts of me
That trigger you,
Are your
Missing
Chunks,
Returning
Home
To you.
I do believe,
We carry
Each others’
Wholeness
Around,
Deep
Inside
Ourselves.
I do believe
We
Make
Each
Other
Whole.
Disguised as triggers.
Disguised as annoyances.
Disguised as incompatibilities.
My friend Joe has a practice.
When triggered by another,
He says to himself:
Bless you.
Change me.
Friends,
We make
Each other
Whole.
For this week’s inspiration—Keeping it simple, here is a good one from yester-year. Okay, I’m old. It’s to be expected.
I think this is a lovely, LOVELY version of an old tune, done with such simplicity and heart.
I always loved this song and played it often at the end of Kripalu programs.
Then, it simply said it so much for me.
Although it still touches me deeply, it’s different for me now.
Listen to this song first, and then the second song below, my current people-heart-opening inspiration.
From The One-Man Show, in the Colonial Theater, lovely downtown Pittsfield, 2017, please note I am purposefully withholding the identity of said singer:
~~~
And now, in current time.
This is the song that I consistently need to hear.
This is the song, the chant, the prayer that I listen to,
That I sing,
That I offer myself.
That I offer you today.
From Beautiful Chorus, Please Prepare Me:
Dear Friends,
As the world seems to heat up
Around us,
Let’s together remember
What is true.
The whole world
Is one family.
You are just me
Over there,
Disguised as you.
And vice/versa.
And upside down,
And inside out,
We are one.
May we practice
Coming home
To ourselves.
May we practice
Coming home
To each other.
May all beings
Benefit from
The words
We together share.
Blessings, all—
Aruni
