This blog post is also available on my Facebook page to make sharing it with friends and family easy for you to do.
Oh. Friends.
Did I struggle?
Did I fuss and freak, perhaps internally more than externally?
Everything seemed to be running amuck,
Counter to my perfectly harmonized planning for my big Inner Quest Intensive weekend program.
To name just a few:
Nik the Dog had an abscess on a private body part,
Which will remain unmentioned, as she requests.
Nik’s weekend caregiver got sick.
Yep, she got sick.
She is, of course, unavailable.
My printer, sorely needed three weeks of the year,
Randomly needed otherwise,
With a final breath,
Printed its last print.
No printer.
Hard for program prep.
Life got
Incrementally
Harder.
There’s more
But who cares?
Yes, all first-world problems.
But…
Crazy stuff seemed to unfold.
Was life was pulling against me?
Wait.
Or was I pulling against life?
Despite my feelings,
I began taking actions,
One
Fumbling
Step at a time
Out there in the void.
A few days of some serious grrrrrrrrrr-ing ensued.
It was frustrating and scary.
And then,
Slow by slow,
It wasn’t.
I outlived the feelings.
Not totally—
They resurface.
They entice.
They seduce.
I decline participation,
Mostly.
Feelings come to pass—they do not come to stay!
Like the waterfall in the picture,
There is fluidity.
There is flow.
There is movement.
Riding those waves.
Let it come and let it go.
My actions began to tether me back,
Grounding me.
After vet visits, Nik’s abscess is quieting down.
Her committed frenzied attending to that unnamed spot is lessening.
Her Fan-Club-Support-Team is rallying.
She is scheduled through the weekend
For pills, meals, adoration and support.
The Inner Quest is alive and well.
Starting the second day
Of Summer.
Keeping this moment simple.
Allowing this blog to be simple.
Practicing a simple moment.
One breath at a time.
And Summer Solstice has blessed us.

Here, too, along with Summer Solstice are Deva Premal & Miten, masters of chanting, mantra and meditation.

Dear Friends,
How can you create the circumstances in your life that allow things to come and go more ease-fully?
What will that practice look like?
For me,
It is prayer.
Prayer.
Prayer.
Annie Lamott says there are only three necessary prayers:
Help.
Thanks.
Wow.
Prayer doesn’t change reality.
But it surely does loosen our grip on it.
~~~
Folks,
For this life
That we have been given,
Then—
Now—
Always,
We are thankful.
For the people in our lives.
Then—
Now—
Always,
We are thankful.
For the opportunities for growth
In our lives.
Then—
Now—
Always.
We are thankful.
And for our hearts,
Our seeking hearts,
Then—
Now—
Always.
We are thankful.
Stay blessed,
Aruni
